It all started when…
Randy and Deacon Maureen Demler built their first home in 1975 on Burgoyne Road just a couple of miles outside of the Village of Schuylerville. Before Pharmacy school Maureen taught in the Schuylerville District for two years in the late 70s. Brett, Evan and Ryan were all born here and only moved away from their beloved home across from Fish Creek when Randy was transferred for work in 1987. After over 30 years, they returned to the Village in 2018. They fell in love with the house and the Village as they were searching for a place that could accommodate the entire multi-generational family.
Brett and Pam met through friends at Columbia University, where they both went to college. They moved back to New York from California two years ago after having their son Weston to be closer to Randy and Maureen (Opa & Oma). They spent some time looking for a place close enough to St. George's Episcopal Church where Maureen is installed as the Deacon for pastoral care and where Randy serves as the Parish Administrator. (Both are now retired and very active in the church.). That is when they found Nine Gables, a historic home built in 1844 by Daniel Bullard.
They were excited not only about maintaining and preserving the beautiful historic house but the possibility of starting a brewery in the carriage house.
After decades of dreaming the farm brewery in planning is opening soon. Stay tuned for more updates.
